Transformers: Rise of the Beasts was a dream project for me. As a kid growing up with Beasts Wars, I was so excited to be a part of bringing the beloved beast characters to the big screen! There was so much amazing material to draw from in this unique Transformers story. Part of our challenge was to ensure that we found the appropriate balance between Transformers fantasy and real-world historical inspiration reference. To do achieve this, we took a deep dive into the history of Mesoamerican culture as well as worked closely with a cultural anthropologist throughout visual development.
